Legends among us
Every so often, we encounter certain people who influence us forever – an emergency medical technician, a gentle doctor, a tireless volunteer.
They are folks who inspire us; venture forward boldly, paving the way for advancement; and possess incredible talents and skills.
Many times, the impact these legendary individuals have on the world around them goes unrecognized.
The New Ulm Medical Center understands the importance of recognizing these people for their contributions to the health care community and remembering figures from the past whose impact is still being felt.
Through its Legends Award, community members can nominate legendary figures, both past and present, to honor them for the contributions they’ve made that have benefited health in the community.
Award recipients will be honored and celebrated at the December meeting of the Board of Trustees.
The first Legend awards, presented in 2004, went to Dr. Frank Carthey, a respected and well-loved family practice physician and Ruth Wold, a retired LPN and tireless employee of the medical center.
Nomination forms can be obtained by calling Mary Rosenau, Administrative Executive Assistant at the Medical Center, by calling 507-233-1566 or by emailing at mary.rosenau@allina.com. Completed forms should be returned to her office no later than Nov. 1.
