Cancer Support Group
The Cancer Support Group provides consistent emotional support for cancer patients that can only come from others who are going through the same kind of event in their lives. It’s facilitated by Psychologist Janice Beauduy, MD, MS, LP. The group is part of the larger treatment for cancer patients and addresses a holistic approach to treatment, in which people talk about their experience, their fears and concerns.
The group was started thanks to a generous donation from the family of Bill Johnson, a cancer patient who died in early 2007 from colon cancer that had spread throughout his body. In 2008 and 2009, the family formed a committee and held a golf tournament in his honor. In those two years, the tournament has raised almost $9,000.
