Allina physician will discuss H1N1 flu impact at public event
MINNEAPOLIS 09/03/2009--Emergency medicine physician Dan O'Laughlin, MD, will be one of the experts discussing the novel H1N1 flu virus at a public forum next week at the University of Minnesota. The panel will discuss how various sectors of society will and should respond to the potential pandemic. O'Laughlin practices at Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Leading the discussion will be Michael T. Osterholm, director of the University of Minnesota's Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy. In addition to O'Laughlin, panel members include John R. Finnegan, Jr., dean of the U of M's School of Public Health, and Sanne Magnan, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health.
The discussion will be held at the Coffman Memorial Union Theater on the Minneapolis campus on September 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public, but attendees must RSVP.
