New Ulm Medical Center Surgery Center to host Community Open House
NEW ULM, Minn. 05/08/2009--The New Ulm area community is invited to the New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC) Surgery Center Open House at the New Ulm Medical Center, Sunday, May 17 from 1 to 4 p.m.
"This is our opportunity to show off our newly expanded and renovated Surgery Center to everyone in the community," said Lori Wightman, NUMC president. "The newly expanded Surgery Center is bigger than our old space, but more importantly, the space offers more patient privacy as well as efficient space for our staff."
The Surgery Center project allows NUMC to offer expanded surgical services procedures for general surgery; OB/GYN procedures; total knee and hip replacements; cataract repairs; and ear, nose and throat procedures.
Allina Hospitals & Clinics committed $2.75 million to the $3.5 million project. In partnership with the community, the New Ulm Medical Center Foundation raised an additional $760,000 through more than 2,000 philanthropic contributors. A Donor Celebration Recognition Wall is being constructed and will be on display for the Open House.
During the open house, visitors will be able to tour the Surgery Center and enjoy refreshments.
